<<< Back General Information Program Committee Program List of participants
Topics:
The aim of the seminar is to get together the specialists as well as younger researcher in the field of topology and shape optimization just one day before the 21st International Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (ICTAM 2004) to be held in the Main Bulding of the Warsaw University of Technology (the center of Warsaw) 15-21 August 2004, see the web page: http://ictam04.ippt.gov.pl. For the day 15 August (Sunday) only the reception at 18:00 is planned, thus making our meeting possible. The leading experts in the field will be asked to give overviews of their recent achievements. The main topics of the meeting is shape optimization in general, including the layout problems of two or more constituents. The relation between the homogenization theory and the relaxed formulations will be discussed. Other links, e.g. with asymptotic methods in the theory of partial differential equations and with the emerging theory of shape transitions are planned to be considered. The papers on new numerical techniques are also welcome.
The Seminar will be held at Systems Research Institute (see Location below).

Presentations:
The oral plenary talks are planned to last 20 minutes including discussion. The technical contributions will be shorter.

Proceedings:
The accepted papers will be published in a special post conference volume (EXIT Publishing House, Warsaw) and given to the seminar participants during the meeting.
The template of the paper may be obtained from here.
The deadline for submitting written contributions is June 2, 2004. Due to technical reasons we cannot process papers arriving later.
